The U.S. Department of State announced the launch of a new pilot program for issuing visas to foreign citizens based on a deposit guarantee. Foreign media reported this, citing an official statement. This was reported by Zamon.uz.

The program applies only to B-1 (business) and B-2 (tourism) visa categories and will be implemented for citizens of countries where cases of overstaying visas in the U.S. are frequent.

Under this mechanism, visa applicants must pay a cash deposit of up to $15,000 before entering the U.S. If the individual leaves the U.S. within the specified period, the deposit will be fully refunded.

The main goal of this pilot program is to prevent violations of immigration rules and combat the misuse of visas.
