According to Hagen Husgen, a representative of the German police trade union, service buildings have had unrepaired toilets for years, with mold, harmful insects, non-functioning heating systems, and roofs that leak during rain.
According to him, patrol cars are also in a pitiful state: torn seats, vehicles that have traveled up to half a million kilometers, and faulty gearboxes force officers to work under poor conditions. This does not leave a good impression of the police among citizens.
The trade union is demanding that the government allocate funds from the existing special security fund and also increase financial assistance to regions (areas).
