Today, on August 14, the leader of Uzbekistan received Aurelia Bouchez, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the French Republic, who is concluding her diplomatic mission in the country. This was reported by the presidential press service.
It was noted that the head of state highlighted the ambassador’s effective work and her personal contribution to the development and strengthening of strategic partnership relations between the two countries.
The high-level mutual visits that took place were emphasized to have qualitatively elevated Uzbekistan-France cooperation and enriched its agenda with specific content.
Systematic dialogue and active engagement have been established at various levels. Significant achievements have been made in trade and economic spheres: trade turnover has quadrupled in recent years, and projects worth over $10 billion are being implemented with leading French companies and organizations.
"Important programs are being implemented in education, healthcare, and cultural-humanitarian exchange. Exhibitions at the Louvre Museum and the Institute of the Arab World have been highly successful," the report stated.
A statue of Beruni was unveiled near Paris. A street in the French capital was named after Samarkand. This year, the Uzbekistan-France University will begin operations in Tashkent.
At the end of the meeting, the President of Uzbekistan presented the "Friendship" Order to Aurelia Bouchez, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of France, for her significant contribution to strengthening friendship and strategic partnership between our countries.
The ambassador expressed sincere gratitude to the head of state for the high appraisal of her diplomatic mission and for the comprehensive support in advancing large-scale cooperation between Uzbekistan and France.
