According to the report, the young man and the girl met at a billiard hall. During the conversation, the girl boasted about her wealthy parents in Myanmar and promised to help the young man find a job. The young man agreed and went to Bangkok with his girlfriend in February of this year.
While on the road to the Thailand and Myanmar border, the young man and the girl got into an argument. At that moment, armed individuals attacked the young man and took his phone and passport. For the next four months, the young man was held captive, where they regularly shaved his head and forced him to engage in online scams. The girl sold the young man for 14 thousand dollars.
The kidnappers contacted the young man's family and demanded a ransom of 48 thousand dollars. The necessary amount was collected within four months, and the young man was freed. By that time, the girl was serving a prison sentence in Thailand and was arrested upon her return to China. She has been charged with fraud and human trafficking.
