Seventeen young men fell into the canal and perished.

On August 22, a 17-year-old boy drowned in the 'Boorijar' canal, which flows through the Seoul Mun area.

According to the Prosecutor General's Office, he had jumped into the canal to retrieve his hat but did not have the strength to get out of the water.

According to witnesses, his friend also tried to help and was forcibly pulled to the shore. Employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations are currently conducting search operations.
