Behzod Kobulov, the advisor to the head of Tashkent region on information policy, has resigned. He announced this on his Facebook page on the evening of August 25.
It is reported that Behzod Kobulov left his position following a scandal that caused a major uproar on social networks.
"After comprehensively considering the situation, I have decided to resign from the position of head of the information service of the Tashkent regional khokimiyat. That's it. My honor is gone, in my opinion. I cannot stand idly by while my colleagues, my teammates, who have supported me and worked honestly day and night with great efforts to build the future, are being pelted with stones of criticism through my activities. The fact that the well-being of the Tashkent regional khokimiyat family is being disrupted because of me, to use the words of my beloved poet Guljamol Askarova, insults my soul. Because this team deserves respect," wrote Kobulov.
Kobulov stated that he sincerely regrets the emergence of a stream of negative information connected to him, that it should end quickly, and that the matter should be properly assessed by judicial and legal authorities.
What happened to him?
The press secretary's resignation occurred against the backdrop of a video address left on social networks by former deputy, public figure, and blogger Feruza Madrasulova. In her video address, she accused Kobulov of insulting her honor. According to Madrasulova, a message filled with unbearable insults and slander was sent by Behzod Kobulov, the press secretary of the head of Tashkent region, to a public group targeting the blogger.
Initially, Behzod Kobulov stated that the relevant law enforcement agencies had been contacted regarding this situation and that the mentioned writings did not belong to him and were fake.
