It is stated that the arms sale serves U.S. foreign policy and strengthens the security of its allies.

The U.S. Department of State approved an $825 million arms sale agreement to Ukraine. According to a statement from the Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA), the contract includes air-delivered munitions, 3,350 ERAM long-range missiles, GPS systems, missile containers, spare parts, software, and technical documentation.

An official notification has been sent to the U.S. Congress regarding the deal. It is noted that the arms sale "does not alter the basic military balance in the region" but serves U.S. foreign policy and national interests.

Ukraine is purchasing these weapons under the Foreign Military Financing (FMF) program with financial assistance from Denmark, the Netherlands, and Norway.

It is worth recalling that on August 18, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated his intention to purchase a total of $90 billion worth of military equipment from the U.S. in the post-war period.
