London has expressed its firm position on the Palestinian issue, opposing Israel's construction plans in the West Bank.
Great Britain is expected to officially recognize Palestine in September 2025. This was reported by Zamon.uz.
It is noted that the government is moving closer to a decision to recognize Palestine because Israeli officials are showing readiness for the conditions previously put forward by London.
It is assumed that this issue will also be confirmed in the speech to be given by the UK Foreign Secretary, David Lammy, in the House of Commons on September 1.
In recent months, London's political pressure on Israel has been observed to increase. For instance, on August 21, Great Britain condemned Israel's intention to build new Jewish settlements on the western bank of the Jordan River. Also, on August 10, it was announced that a series of sanctions were being developed against plans to occupy the Gaza sector.
These measures may include banning the training exercises of the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) in the UK. Furthermore, the Foreign Office is considering measures aimed at deterring Israel from its attempts to establish control over Gaza.
