In Uzbekistan, a name can also be turned into a number for a car. A Government Resolution (No. 562, 04.09.2025) on this matter was adopted.
Starting from January 1, 2026, the state unitary enterprise "Uzavtomotobelgi" has been granted the right to issue "unique" state license plates, consisting of a combination of up to six letters and/or numbers for motor vehicles, through open electronic auctions based on the demand and suggestions of the population.
In this case, the "unique" state license plates must not duplicate existing state license plates and must not carry a meaning contrary to legislation and ethical norms.
For example, we may now see cars on the streets with plates that say "SARVAR", "AZIZA", "ODIL", or "BUKHARA".
