Today, on September 12, 2025, at 07:40 (local time), an aviation incident occurred at the Irkutsk city airport, according to a report from the Eastern Siberian Transport Prosecutor's Office.

According to the report, "a flock of birds collided with the engine of an A-319 aircraft, operated by Ural Airlines, while performing flight 2719 on the Irkutsk–Tashkent route."

As a result, the aircraft returned to Irkutsk airport based on the captain's decision.

There were 6 crew members and 91 passengers on board the aircraft. No one was injured as a result of the incident, and the aircraft was not damaged.

The Baikal-Angarsk Transport Prosecutor's Office has launched an investigation into compliance with flight safety legislation.
