It was revealed that an assistant to the hokim (governor) in the Sariosiyo district of the Surkhandarya region, exploiting his official authority, deceived a citizen and demanded 29 million soums in exchange for providing him with land. This information came to light during an operational event conducted by employees of the DXX, the Department for Combating Economic Crimes, and the IIB.

He had promised to officially register 2.5 hectares of irrigated land from the district hokimiyat's reserve on a 30-year lease basis.

The assistant to the hokim was caught red-handed while receiving the money. During the investigation, it was established that he was supposed to hand over this money to an engineer of the "Survilerloyiha" branch of the "Uzdavloyiha" institute and the head of a section of the district agriculture department.

The operational event was continued, and these two officials were also caught red-handed while receiving the money.

Currently, a criminal case has been initiated against them under Articles 168 (Fraud) and 211 (Bribery) of the Criminal Code, and investigative actions are ongoing.
