During an operational event carried out in cooperation with customs and SSC officers in the Bostanlyk district of the Tashkent region, a person who attempted to illegally remove 8 live falcons listed in the Red Book was detained.

It was reported that the individual, who had previously been under surveillance, was stopped while attempting to illegally cross the state border through the "Oqtosh" control-checkpoint. The scene during the inspection is currently the focus of everyone's attention: 8 falcons, tightly packed into a small bag, were found with their eyes and legs tied, and their wings taped.

According to relevant specialists, these falcons are listed in the Red Book of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and both their capture and removal from the country are strictly prohibited.

These birds have now been handed over to the Tashkent Zoo. The customs authorities are conducting an investigation regarding the incident.
