In his speech in New York, President Mirziyoyev paid special attention to the role of the UN in solving global problems, the irreversible reforms in New Uzbekistan, and issues of regional cooperation.
His meeting with US President Donald Trump became the central event of the visit — the parties agreed to strengthen the strategic partnership.
Furthermore, the President met with UN Secretary-General António Guterres and leaders of a number of other states and international organizations. Additionally, Uzbekistan's economic reforms and investment opportunities were showcased during a roundtable discussion attended by major American investors and companies.
During the visit, agreements were signed in the fields of critical minerals, the chemical industry, aviation, and energy. President Mirziyoyev also, as is traditional, held a meeting with the Uzbek community and "El-Yurt Umidi" scholarship recipients in the USA.
Upon completion of the visit, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev departed for Tashkent.
