The journal emphasized that inequality in low- and middle-income countries regarding childhood cancer and blood diseases is creating a significant risk.
The article noted that less than 30% of children with cancer survive, and half of the children suffering from sickle cell anemia die before reaching the age of five.
In this context, the work being carried out in Uzbekistan was acknowledged:
• A national strategy against childhood cancer was adopted by a Presidential decree;
• The International Academic Center in Tashkent is becoming a regional center for innovations;
• Treatment and personnel training based on a unified approach have been launched.
