Today, on September 26, an expanded meeting was held under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to analyze the work on cotton harvesting in the regions, the preparedness for the autumn-winter season, the implementation of investment and export indicators, and the activities within the framework of the nationwide "Green Space" project. This was reported by the President's press secretary.

It was reported that this year, seeds were sown on 875 thousand hectares, and contracts were signed for 3.7 million tons of harvest. Over 900 machines were involved in the harvesting process, and fuel and fertilizers were provided to farmers on preferential terms.

At the same time, delays against the plan are observed in some regions. For example, while Surkhandarya, Khorezm, Fergana, and Andijan regions are showing good results, the situation is unsatisfactory in Samarkand, Sirdarya, and Navoiy.

The President gave instructions to establish emergency headquarters on the ground within a short time to ensure high-quality harvesting and promptly resolve issues concerning farmers. Officials were tasked with ensuring timely payments for the harvested cotton.

The meeting also reviewed the preparedness for the autumn-winter season.

Across the republic, repair work has not been completed in 125 out of 640 schools and kindergartens. Approximately one thousand out of 9.8 thousand multi-story buildings are not ready. The repair of boiler houses in Jizzakh and Surkhandarya has also not been fully completed.

The head of state noted the necessity of resolving these issues within two weeks and bringing heating, electricity, and water networks to a state of readiness for the season.

Furthermore, to date, 55 thousand tons of coal have been delivered to the population, including 9 thousand tons to 381 remote villages and hamlets. Officials were instructed to fully deliver the 27 thousand tons of undistributed coal from warehouses to the population, as well as 330 thousand tons of liquefied gas to consumers during the autumn-winter season. It was emphasized that responsible persons are personally accountable for preventing interruptions in gas and electricity supply.

During the discussion of the implementation of the "Green Space" program, criticism was raised that 27.5 million out of 137 million seedlings planted this spring had dried up. The reason is that due to the early arrival of hot days between spring and summer, the planted seedlings cannot take root, and they require 2-3 times more water than usual.

In this regard, it was pointed out that it is necessary to increase the planting of trees in the autumn. It is planned to plant 125 million trees and shrubs this autumn season and another 75 million in the spring. It was demanded not to plant seedlings in areas without irrigation systems and capabilities.

The accelerating process of urbanization necessitates increasing the green cover in cities and regional centers. To scientifically develop cities in accordance with "green" standards, it has been decided to develop "green" master plans for the cities of Tashkent and Nukus, and all regional centers, with the participation of scientists, urbanists, and ecologists.

By the end of the third quarter of this year, the volume of foreign investment attracted to our country is expected to reach $33.5 billion. In January-August, exports amounted to $23 billion, an increase of 31 percent compared to the same period last year.

However, investment growth is not uniform across all regions. In some regions, export indicators have even decreased. The President demanded that officials take specific measures to ensure an additional $7.3 billion in exports by the end of the year, attract investments, and enter new markets.

Cooperation with states of the USA is set to be launched. It was noted that each region should establish cooperation with a specific state and assist in expanding direct links between local businesses and foreign partners.

At the end of the meeting, the President gave instructions for the timely and full implementation of the tasks set in all directions.
