Extensive sanitary inspections conducted in 398 private and family non-state preschool educational institutions in the Syrdarya region revealed a number of violations. This was reported by UzA.

The inspections were carried out in cooperation with the regional administration, the Regional Department of the Sanitary-Epidemiological Welfare and Public Health Committee, and relevant authorities. Their main goal was to study the extent to which sanitary-hygiene requirements affecting children's health and safety are being implemented in private kindergartens.

During the inspections, it was found that many institutions were not complying with sanitary requirements. Including:

Kitchens in 60 kindergartens were in need of repair;

There were interruptions in the water supply;

Handwashing facilities were insufficiently equipped;

Staff and children had not undergone mandatory medical check-ups on schedule;

Bed linens and equipment were worn out;

Some rooms and doors were in need of repair.

Based on the identified deficiencies, the activities of a number of kindergartens were temporarily suspended. These measures were taken to compel those responsible to eliminate the shortcomings and to ensure the creation of a healthy and safe environment for children.

"According to the inspection results, court authorities imposed administrative fines totaling 333 million 480 thousand soums against 329 responsible persons for violating sanitary norms and standards," said Jurabek Khasanov, Head of the Syrdarya Regional Department of the Sanitary-Epidemiological Welfare and Public Health Committee under the Ministry of Health.

According to him, although training seminars on sanitary-hygiene requirements had been previously conducted for the heads of private kindergartens, violations of the requirements are still observed in some organizations.

As specialists emphasize, children's health is the health of society. Therefore, compliance with sanitary rules and hygiene requirements is mandatory for all educational institutions, regardless of their form of ownership.

Special working groups have now been established to eliminate the identified deficiencies, and control work is continuing throughout the region.
