The Central Bank announced the exchange rates effective from October 14. According to it, the US dollar appreciated again — by 8.64 soums, with 1 dollar becoming equal to 12,149.55 soums.
The euro, however, depreciated by 34.3 soums, falling to 14,087.40 soums. The Russian ruble appreciated by 1.03 soums, amounting to 150.44 soums.
Previously, on October 10, the dollar had also risen by 17.53 soums, reaching 12,140.91 soums.
In September, the soum had strengthened somewhat, appreciating in value by 3.4% against the dollar. It was stated that this was mainly due to an increase in the supply of foreign currency.
However, in October, this trend changed, and the dollar exchange rate has continued to rise again.
