On October 16, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev familiarized himself with a presentation on identifying economic opportunities through space monitoring and increasing the efficiency of using these technologies in various sectors.
The presentation discussed the work being carried out and future plans by the Space Research and Technologies Agency under the Ministry of Digital Technologies. It was noted that a state space monitoring system is being systematically established in the fields of geology, land resources, and ecology in our country. Since the beginning of the year, over 2,000 cases of illegal mining have been identified using satellites.
Furthermore, the President emphasized the need to identify illegal construction, attract vacant lands to economic activity, and widely introduce space analysis into economic sectors. For this purpose, instructions were given to integrate information platforms and create an operational control system.
Through space technologies, nearly 300 hectares of vacant land were identified in six studied areas. It was decided to complete work on this matter in all district centers next year.
The presentation also discussed innovative areas such as analyzing space data using artificial intelligence, monitoring forest conditions, detecting methane leaks, and assessing the efficiency of solar panels and infrastructure.
The Head of state gave instructions for thorough preparation for the International Astronautical Congress to be held in Samarkand in 2028.
