Hamas, in turn, accused Israel of violating the peace and reported that 38 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli attacks since October 10. They also emphasized that the body of a hostage citizen to be handed over to Israel was found, but new attacks could halt the rescue operations.
In Israel, several high-ranking officials supported the resumption of strikes. Minister for Diaspora Affairs Amichai Chikli said: "As long as Hamas exists — the war will continue." Politician Yair Golan wrote: "A firm response to Hamas is necessary. This is how the rules of the game are established."
