The incident in Namangan is not just the depravity of a single pedophile; it is the face of a system that has for years whitewashed the crime with the soft expression of "moral correction work." One cannot play with a child's life. This is not just a crime—it is a rebellion against humanity.
The fact that such pedophiles have their sentences shortened on the pretext of "good behavior" and walk the streets freely speaks to the state's attitude towards children. The law must be harsh not only on paper but also in life. We have witnessed yet another proof that there must be no forgiveness, leniency, or talk of "good behavior" for such criminals.
In our legislation, a change was introduced to the Criminal Code in 2024, according to which the replacement of the unserved part of a sentence with a lighter one is not applied in cases of sexual assault against a minor involving violence or violation of their honor. However, today I believe it is necessary to apply even stricter punitive measures in our legislation for protection.
My demand is strict: the time has come to establish at the legislative level a sentence of life imprisonment for any sexual violence against children.
We often say that a child is the future of the nation. But every such incident exposes these words as a lie. If we still treat such pedophiles leniently, it means we are destroying the future with our own hands.
