A 32-year-old nurse working in the Koson district of the Kashkadarya region was sentenced by the court to 2 years and 6 months of imprisonment for attempting to sell a girl born in 2020 on two occasions. This was reported by the Supreme Court's information service.

Reportedly, the nurse first sold the girl to another woman for 19.7 million soums in agreement with the girl's mother. Then, in exchange for providing a certificate from the woman who bought the child, she took an additional bribe of 2 million soums. Not long after, she was caught while trying to sell the girl to another person for 15 thousand dollars after conspiring with a 60-year-old man.

According to the verdict issued by the Koson District Court on September 17 in the criminal case, the nurse was sentenced to imprisonment and also fined an amount equivalent to 30 times the base calculation amount.

Her accomplice was sentenced to 3 years of house arrest and was also forced to pay a fine 30 times the base amount.

Currently, the little girl's condition is good — she is being raised in an orphanage in the Kitob district.
