The European Union approved the 19th sanctions package against Russia. According to it, starting from 2027, the import of liquefied natural gas from Russia will be banned. Restrictions on the free movement of Russian diplomats within the EU territory have also been introduced.

The package also blacklisted individuals responsible for children illegally taken from Ukraine, 118 vessels of the so-called "shadow fleet," certain Russian banks, and third-country companies that helped circumvent sanctions.

According to diplomats, negotiations on the 20th sanctions package against Russia are expected to begin by the end of 2025.
