As a result of excavations carried out in collaboration with scientists from the Berdakh Karakalpak State University and specialists from the State Geological Museum, ancient dinosaur bones were discovered.
During ongoing scientific research in Karakalpakstan, the remains of a dinosaur, estimated to have lived 70 million years ago, were found. This was reported by the "Uzbekistan-24" TV channel.
The search operations were carried out in collaboration with scientists from the Berdakh Karakalpak State University and specialists from the State Geological Museum of Uzbekistan. According to officials, the discovered bones may belong to a giant species of dinosaur.
According to the museum director, Ahmadjon Ahmadshayev, fragments of vertebrae, parts of leg bones, and other bone fragments were found at the research site. They belong to the Cretaceous period, and their exact type and age will be determined after laboratory analyses involving international experts.
Upon completion of the research, the discovered bones are expected to be handed over to the State Geological Museum of Uzbekistan and displayed to the public.
