According to the "Associated Press," the incident occurred in the historic center of Mexico City. While President Claudia Sheinbaum was interacting with people, a man who was intoxicated approached her from behind and touched her.
In a video that spread across networks, the man appeared to be leaning in to kiss the President, at which point he touched Sheinbaum with his hands.
The President, however, calmly handled the situation, gently pushing the man aside and saying with a smile on her face, "Don't worry."
Although a government representative intervened in the situation, the President's administration has not yet commented on the incident.
For reference, Sheinbaum, like her predecessor Andrés Manuel López Obrador, prefers to have close contact with the people. She often goes into crowds, takes pictures, and shakes hands.
This time, however, her security service became active only after the incident.
