The Termez-Hairaton bridge crossing points connecting Uzbekistan and Afghanistan have resumed operations for citizens. This was reported by the Press Service of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan here.
At the same time, the visa requirement remains in force.
It is noted that in 2021, the crossing of citizens from one country to another was restricted, which significantly complicated entrepreneurs' travel to Afghanistan: to get to Mazar-i-Sharif, located 75 km from Hairaton (approximately a one-hour journey), entrepreneurs were forced to take a detour through Tajik territory. Now these restrictions have been lifted and the border crossing point has reopened.
"The restoration of the border crossing procedure creates serious conveniences for exporters. In recent years, the volume of exports to Afghanistan has been steadily growing, and especially with the opening of this route, all opportunities exist to increase exports to $2.5 billion by 2026," the report states.
We remind you that Uzbek entrepreneurs entering Afghan markets are granted the following privileges:
- For entrepreneurs who open a warehouse in Hairaton or Mazar-i-Sharif, 100% of the costs associated with warehouse storage are covered.
- The costs of advertising products in 34 provinces of Afghanistan are fully compensated.
