At the Kuksaroy residence, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the President of the Republic of Paraguay Santiago Peña held talks with the participation of official delegations.
The prospects for further strengthening practical cooperation between Uzbekistan and Paraguay were discussed.
While warmly welcoming the Paraguayan leader, the head of Uzbekistan noted the historical significance of this first-ever visit by the President of the Latin American country to Uzbekistan. It was emphasized that this summit marks the beginning of a new era in the development of friendly relations between the two nations.
The talks discussed priority areas for expanding bilateral cooperation, including in trade, economy, culture, humanitarian affairs, education, and other fields.
Special attention was paid to increasing mutual trade, developing business ties, and implementing joint projects in agriculture, food and chemical industries, digitalization, tourism, and sports.
Views were also exchanged on pressing issues on the international and regional agenda.
At the end of the meeting, the sides confirmed their readiness to further develop political dialogue and deepen practical cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
