According to the President's decree of December 11, all control functions related to the spheres of mass media, publishing, and digital information will now be carried out by a special inspection under the Ministry of Digital Technologies.

In accordance with decree PQ-371, the monitoring and control tasks previously under the authority of the Agency of Information and Mass Communications have been fully transferred to the new inspection. State control over the quality of informatization, telecommunications, postal communications, and digital services will now be strengthened.

The decree stipulates that artificial intelligence systems, databases, software, and the activities of digital resources will also be fully brought under the scope of control. The registration of mass media, monitoring their compliance with legislation, as well as inspections over publishing and printing activities have also been transferred to the authority of the new inspection.

Mechanisms for protecting children from harmful information will be expanded, and additional powers have been granted to limit the spread of prohibited content on online platforms.

Furthermore, the founder of the "Khabar" newspaper has changed, and its shares are being transferred to the Content Preparation Center under the Presidential Administration. All control functions of the abolished Agency of Information and Mass Communications have been handed over to the inspection.

54 additional staff units have been allocated to the new inspection, bringing the total number of employees to 172. The task has been set to launch the "Digital Control" platform by January 1, 2027, through which the quality of digital services will be regularly monitored across all regions of the republic.
