The currently apprehended individual has been handed over to investigative authorities for carrying out subsequent procedural actions.

A 32-year-old Uzbek national, accused of organizing a criminal association, robbery, and extortion, was apprehended in Turkey and extradited to Uzbekistan. The MIA reported this.

The dangerous criminal was captured as a result of a special operation conducted in collaboration between the MIA, the State Security Service, and the staff of Uzbekistan's Consulate General in Istanbul. According to law enforcement agencies, Y.M., born in 1993, known in criminal circles by the nickname "Gryaz" (Dirt), was extradited to Uzbekistan on December 5 of this year.

It is reported that the detained person led an organized criminal group that committed a number of serious crimes in the territory of the republic. In 2023, a search for him was announced by the Yashnobod district DIA.

He has been charged under the following articles of the Criminal Code: — Part 2 of Article 112 (murder or threat of murder); — Part 4 of Article 164 (robbery committed by an organized group); — Part 3 of Article 165 (extortion on a particularly large scale); — Part 2 of Article 173 (intentional destruction or damage of property); — Part 1 of Article 242 (organizing a criminal association).

The apprehended person has now been handed over to investigative bodies for further procedural actions. He could face a long-term prison sentence.
