Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, took the top spot in Forbes' 2025 ranking. The second and third places were taken by European Central Bank President Christine Lagarde and Japan's first female prime minister in history, Sanae Takaichi, respectively.
Also securing high positions in the list were political and business leaders such as Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum, General Motors CEO Mary Barra, and AMD CEO Lisa Su.
The 2025 ranking also features new participants. Among them are noted OpenAI CFO Sarah Friar, entrepreneur Kim Kardashian, Namibia's first female president Ntombi Nandi-Ndaitwah, and the creators of Netflix's popular animated project "K-Pop Demon Hunters."
The Forbes ranking evaluates women's global influence in politics, economics, and culture based on their sphere of power, financial strength, public recognition, and role in their field.
