On this matter, the President's Press Secretary Sherzod Asadov gave information.

It is reported that the visit to Tokyo has elevated Uzbekistan-Japan relations to the level of expanded strategic partnership. It has ushered bilateral relations into a new stage of development.

"For many years, relations between Uzbekistan and Japan were primarily based on humanitarian cooperation and technical assistance projects. Today, as a result of the pragmatic and consistent policy of the President of Uzbekistan, the bilateral agenda has been reshaped to encompass all areas of trade, economic, and investment cooperation. A vivid confirmation of this is the formation of a portfolio of new cooperation projects worth over 12 billion dollars. These agreements cover the fields of education, healthcare, ecology and water resources, transport and urban development, tourism, agriculture, as well as natural disaster risk management. Special attention was paid to joint projects on expanding 'green' energy, energy-saving systems, and industrial cooperation," the source's report states.

It is noted that within the framework of the visit, the participation of the President of Uzbekistan in the first summit of the 'Central Asia + Japan' dialogue was also a significant event. The initiatives aimed at deepening regional interconnectedness, developing a 'green' economy, expanding investment and digital partnership, and enhancing human capital qualifications reflect Uzbekistan's aspiration to actively participate in shaping a new architecture of cooperation in Central Asia. The adoption of the Tokyo Declaration at the conclusion of the summit has consolidated this approach at a multilateral level.

"The results of the official visit to Japan demonstrate Uzbekistan's gradual transition to full-scale strategic partnership with one of the world's leading technology and investment centers. This confirms our country's strategic policy aimed at attracting advanced technologies, implementing major infrastructure and industrial projects, and strengthening its position in regional and global economic processes," the source emphasizes.
