At a wedding in Namangan, a man who raped a 7-year-old girl was sentenced to 18 years in prison.

The convict will serve the first three years of the sentence in prison, and the remaining part in a colony of special regime.

In October, news spread about the rape of a girl born in 2018 during a male wedding ceremony in one of the households in Namangan region. 

Yesterday, the consideration of this criminal case was completed in Namangan. The Supreme Court press service reported on this.

The Yangikurgan district court for criminal cases issued a verdict against the defendant, B.S., born in 1987, with a prior conviction.

The court proceedings were held in closed session.

According to the court verdict, B.S. was found guilty of committing crimes against the minor I.K., born in 2018, as provided for in Part 1 of Article 112 (threat of murder or use of violence), Part 4 of Article 118 (sexual assault), and Part 4 of Article 119 (satisfaction of sexual needs through the use of violence) of the Criminal Code.

For the aggregate of crimes, he was sentenced to 18 years of imprisonment.

Furthermore, based on subparagraph "a" of Part 3 of Article 34 of the Criminal Code, B.S. was recognized as a particularly dangerous recidivist. In this regard, he will serve his sentence under stricter conditions and the possibility of early release is minimized.

In particular, according to the court's decision, the convict will serve the first three years of his sentence in prison, and the remaining part in a colony with a special regime.
