According to the "Dunyo" news agency, the child was secretly taken from the maternity hospital by his mother in 2023 and left in the care of a Syrian family. No documents were officially issued for the newborn because the mother did not present a marriage certificate.

The Syrian family cared for the child for two years. After the situation in Syria stabilized, they contacted the Uzbek embassy and handed over the child. The child's birth certificate was officially issued, and he was brought to Uzbekistan on December 18 via the Muscat—Dubai—Tashkent route.

It is reported that the child's mother was arrested in 2024 for other crimes and is currently serving her sentence.
