A bus traveling along the Zarafshan–Navoi route was involved in a road traffic accident in the Tomdi district of Navoi region. This was reported by the information service of the regional DIA.
It is noted that the road traffic accident occurred on January 5, at approximately 07:40, between the 167th and 168th kilometers of the A-379 "Navoi-Uchkuduk" international highway, passing through the territory of the "Tomdibuloq" rural citizens' assembly of Tomdi district.
According to preliminary investigations, a ZHONG TONG BUS brand bus (technically sound), carrying 47 passengers, was being driven along the Zarafshan–Navoi route by citizen Sh.Kh., born in 1986 (a driver with 17 years of experience), who lost control of the steering, veered to the right side of the road in the direction of travel, overturned, and caused the RTA.
As a result of the incident, two citizens traveling as passengers died at the scene from the severe bodily injuries they sustained. Nine citizens who sustained bodily injuries of varying severity were hospitalized.
"Currently, the details of the incident are being studied by the Navoi regional DIA in order to fully investigate the situation, provide assistance to the victims and their family members, and give a legal assessment to the conditions that led to the severe consequences," the report says.
