A discussion meeting dedicated to issues of strengthening state control over the circulation of firearms was held at the Agency for the Control of Narcotics and Firearms under the Administration of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The event was attended by representatives of the Presidential Administration, the Agency for the Control of Narcotics and Firearms, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the State Security Service, the Customs Committee, the State Border Protection Committee, the Prosecutor General's Office, the Department for Combating Economic Crimes, the Ecology Committee Inspection, the National Guard and other responsible organizations.
The meeting discussed urgent issues related to ensuring public safety, preventing illegal arms trafficking, and ensuring the implementation of current legislation.
The work carried out by the relevant agencies regarding compliance with the rules for the registration, storage, and use of firearms, and the suppression of illegal arms trafficking was analyzed. Furthermore, views were exchanged on existing shortcomings and measures to eliminate them.
As emphasized, illegal arms circulation poses a serious threat to crime and public safety. Therefore, it was noted that it is necessary to intensify preventive measures in this direction, expand legal awareness work among the population, and further strengthen cooperation between agencies.

Special attention was also paid to the issue of establishing prompt information exchange between agencies. In this regard, it was noted that it is necessary to form unified electronic databases, improve systems for transmitting information through prompt channels, and conduct joint measures. It was emphasized that the effectiveness of information exchange is a decisive factor in the timely detection of illegal arms trafficking.
In addition, the meeting defined specific tasks for using modern information technologies in firearm record-keeping, creating a unified platform, improving electronic control mechanisms, and taking strict measures against violations.
At the end of the event, tasks were agreed upon to develop additional measures with representatives of law enforcement agencies to ensure effective control over the circulation of firearms, strengthen the rule of law, and reliably protect the safety of citizens.
