In Fergana, an employee of the Agriculture Department was caught with a $50,000 bribe.

The official had to change the category of this 5-hectare land plot for the entrepreneur for the construction of housing.

A resident of the Bagdad district of Fergana region, born in 1984, previously convicted, claims that through his official acquaintances he will assist a local entrepreneur in obtaining a land plot for the construction of a multi-story residential building. This was reported by the SSS information service.

In particular, in 2020, for changing the category of and allocating 5 hectares out of a 29-hectare land plot, which was allocated to another citizen for organizing a greenhouse to provide jobs for underprivileged and unemployed youth, for the purpose of residential construction, he demands 400 thousand US dollars. 

During an urgent operation conducted jointly by employees of the State Security Service, the Department for Combating Economic Crimes, and the Internal Affairs Directorate, the aforementioned individual was caught red-handed with material evidence while receiving an advance of 50 thousand US dollars.

Furthermore, the urgent operation was continued, and his official acquaintance - the chief specialist of the Fergana region Agriculture Department - was caught while receiving these 50 thousand US dollars. 

Currently, a criminal case has been initiated against the offenders under Article 168, part 4, paragraph "a" and Article 211, part 3, paragraph "a" of the Criminal Code, and the preventive measure of "detention" has been applied. 

Investigative actions are ongoing, according to the report.
