An effective system for combating urgent social problems such as violence against women and children will be established in Uzbekistan. This was envisaged in the draft "State Program for the implementation of reform programs in priority areas in the Year of Development of the Mahalla and Elevation of Society and the Uzbekistan - 2030 Strategy".
According to it, in order to eliminate all forms of violence against women and children, liability measures will be strengthened, and penalties up to life imprisonment will be established for sexual crimes committed against persons under 14 years of age.
The investigation of sexual and violent crimes committed against minors will be transferred to the exclusive jurisdiction of the prosecutor's office.
Furthermore, the activity of judges specialized in the investigation and consideration of cases related to coercion and violence against minors and women, who have undergone special training, will be introduced.
