Uzbekistan and Pakistan are launching a new international transport route.

Uzbekistan and Pakistan will carry out the first pilot cargo shipments along the "Pakistan-China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan" route in February.

A delegation led by Uzbekistan's First Deputy Minister of Transport Mamambiy Omonov visited Pakistan and met with Pakistan's Deputy Minister of Railways Mazhar Ali Shah.

The meeting discussed issues of strengthening regional connectivity in the transport and logistics sector, creating new routes, and increasing cargo transportation volume.

The parties also reached an agreement on developing the "Uzbekistan–Afghanistan–Pakistan" railway project.

Pilot shipments along the new "Pakistan–China–Kyrgyzstan–Uzbekistan" transport corridor are planned to be implemented in February of this year.
