Thirteen U.S. states have filed a lawsuit against the Donald Trump administration. This was caused by the cancellation of $1.2 billion in grants allocated for "green" energy projects.

The lawsuit was filed by the states of California, Colorado, Washington, Connecticut, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Wisconsin. California Governor Gavin Newsom called the decision "illegal," emphasizing that it threatens over 200,000 jobs and negates billions of dollars in economic benefits.

According to the plaintiffs, canceling funds approved by Congress is considered a violation of the country's Constitution. Previously, a U.S. court had also found the decision to cancel several billion dollars in grants for "green" energy projects to be unlawful.
