The assistant to the hokim (governor) of Kibray district in Tashkent region was caught while receiving $10,000 after demanding $50,000 for the official registration of a land plot during a neighborhood citizens' meeting.
According to information from the State Security Service, he promised to officially register a 4-sotix plot of land from the state reserve in the name of a buyer by entering false information into archival documents through his acquaintances working in the hokimiyat (governor's office).
During an operational measure, he was caught with material evidence while receiving part of the money.
Regarding the incident, a criminal case has been initiated against him under Articles 168 and 211 of the Criminal Code, and investigative actions are being carried out. It was previously reported that an assistant to a hokim in Namangan was also caught attempting to sell state land.
