On Friday, eight people were killed and 31 injured as a result of a "double-tap" (two consecutive strikes) attack carried out by Israel on the coastal area of Beirut — Ramlet al-Baida. This was reported by Zamon.uz, citing the Lebanese Ministry of Health.
According to the publication, Israel's latest action resembles another war crime. Displaced families who had fled the bombings had found temporary shelter in this area.
"Witnesses in Ramlet al-Baida said the noise of attack aircraft woke them while they were sleeping in their tents. Then there was an explosion, and as soon as they emerged from their tents, a second strike hit," the report states.
According to Pett, this attack could be another Israeli war crime strike. It draws attention, in particular, because it was carried out outside areas typically targeted and also outside the zones Israel had ordered to evacuate.
The Lebanese National News Agency also reported that at least seven more people were killed as a result of attacks carried out by Israeli forces in the south of the country and other areas.
According to information from the Lebanese Ministry of Health, three people were killed and one child was wounded as a result of an Israeli attack on the city of Aramoun, located about 10 kilometers south of Beirut.
In an Israeli attack on the city of Deir Antar in the Bint Jbeil district, two people were killed and six wounded. Two more people were killed as a result of a strike on a four-story building targeted at the Maaraka–Tyre intersection.
Earlier on Friday, a mother and her three sons were killed in an attack on the Burj Shamali area in the Tyre district. In an Israeli attack on the city of Shaat in the Baalbek district, eight people lost their lives.
It is noted that the recent attacks occurred after Lebanese health authorities reported that the death toll from Israeli strikes since February 28 had reached 634 people.
