A 23-year-old young man drowned in a recreation area in Pop district of Namangan region. Search operations are currently underway to find him, reported the press secretary of the General Prosecutor's Office, Hayot Shamsutdinov.
According to reports, the incident occurred on May 28. The 23-year-old young man came with his relatives to a recreation area located in Pop district and entered the "Chodaksoy" stream flowing through there to swim.
According to preliminary data, the young man drowned due to negligence and did not resurface.
In connection with this incident, pre-investigation checks are being carried out by the Pop district prosecutor's office. "As part of the investigation, rescue workers from the district emergency department have been involved in searching for the drowned young man," the report states.
Reports circulated on social media that the search for the young man was being carried out slowly. The Namangan Regional Emergency Management Department responded to this information, stating that search operations are ongoing continuously.
It was noted that the search activities are organized under the leadership of Akmaljon Urinboev, First Deputy Head of the Regional Emergency Management Department.
Currently, district fire-rescue workers are conducting searches on the water surface, while personnel from the department's rescue squad are conducting underwater searches.
