The permanent population of Uzbekistan reached 38.2 million people as of January 1, 2026. This was reported by the State Statistics Committee.
It is noted that the majority of the country's population consists of working-age individuals. Their number is 21.3 million, which is 55.8 percent of the total population.
Additionally, the population below working age is 12.3 million people. This figure accounts for 32.1 percent of the country's permanent population.
The number of people above working age is 4.6 million, making up 12.1 percent of the population.
Thus, statistical data shows that more than half of Uzbekistan's population is of working age.
