"A statement from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps of Iran declared that Ismail Haniyeh was killed during his visit to Tehran to attend the inauguration ceremony of Iran's newly elected president. The statement mentioned that Haniyeh and an Iranian guard were targeted at their residence, promising further details to be announced," reports New York Times.
It has been revealed that the leader's residence in Tehran was targeted by Israel.
