It is reported that the incident occurred on January 31st on the city's Great Silk Road street. A traffic police officer signaled a driver of an Onix car, which had no license plate, to stop. However, the driver disobeyed his order, drove the car over the officer, dragged him on the hood for a while, and fled the scene, injuring him.

At the criminal court of Samarkand city, the accused stated that he rushed home after hearing that his father, who was intoxicated at the time, was abusing his mother, and expressed regret for his actions, asking the court for clemency.

The traffic police officer stated that he had no claims against the defendant and asked for a punishment not involving imprisonment.

The court found the driver guilty under Article 219, Part 2 of the Criminal Code (Resistance against a representative of authority or a person performing civil duty) and restricted his freedom for a period of 3 years.
