Since December 9, 2024, 175,512 Syrians have returned to their homeland from Turkey, which is more than 33,000 families. Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced this on his X (formerly Twitter) page.

According to him, since 2017, more than 900,000 Syrians have voluntarily returned to Syria from Turkey. At the same time, approximately 2.9 million Syrian refugees still live in Turkey.

In total, more than 370,000 refugees returned to Syria after Assad's regime was overthrown. Syrian media reported this, citing data from the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees.

According to the data, from December 8, 2024, to April 3, 2025, 372,500 Syrian refugees returned to Syria from Jordan, Turkey, Lebanon, Iraq, Egypt, and other countries.

According to other data, as of March 27, 2025, more than a million citizens who were internally displaced within Syria have returned to their homes.
