In Sirdarya Region, an official of the Sardoba District Administration demanded 360 million UZS in exchange for leasing a 15-hectare land plot specialized for horticulture for a period of 3 years. Furthermore, he used his official position to arrange for the land category to be changed to "asparagus cultivation" by securing a district administration decree. He was caught in the act while receiving $30,000 USD from a citizen.
In Tashkent, the heads of the Credit Operations and Information Exchange Department and the Business Client Lending Department at a local bank, together with two individuals born in 1992 and 1999, conspired to sell a 5.99-hectare land plot allocated by the O‘rtachirchiq District Administration to a local LLC for horticultural purposes. They agreed to sell it to a buyer for $455,000 USD, and were caught while accepting a down payment of $70,000 USD, plus an additional $15,000 USD to change the land category to greenhouse use and formalize cadastral documents — a total of $85,000 USD — with material evidence in hand.
In Khorezm Region, a citizen born in 1984 and his sister, born in 1989, attempted to register a 2,500 m² plot of arable land from the district reserve in Shovot District in a buyer’s name using their connections in the cadastral offices. They demanded $66,000 USD, and were caught after receiving a prepayment of $45,000 USD and 130 million UZS.
Another case in Khorezm's Yangibozor District involved a specialist from the District Department of Investments, Industry and Trade. He exploited his position to demand 300 million UZS in return for helping a local citizen acquire a 1-hectare plot listed on the “E-auction” platform. He was caught with 243 million UZS and $4,300 USD as material evidence.
In Andijan City, a person born in 1986, in agreement with two partners born in 1987 and 1988, tried to sell a 30-sotix (0.3 hectare) land plot, allocated in 2023 by the Xo‘jaobod District Administration for 30 years for agricultural use. They arranged to sell it for $27,000 USD, and also demanded an additional $11,600 USD to change the land category and obtain a construction permit through their official contacts — totaling $38,600 USD — and were detained with the evidence.
In Fergana Region, a person born in 1959 from Rishton District was caught after trying to illegally sell a 26-sotix (0.26 hectare) horticultural land plot, which he had acquired with fake documents. He used his contacts in the cadastral office to change the land use to residential and formalize it in the buyer’s name, and was detained after accepting $26,000 USD.
Criminal cases have been initiated under relevant articles of the Criminal Code, and investigative actions are currently in progress against these individuals.
