Reports have circulated on social networks about a citizen, Javohir Qurbanov, being tortured at the Sergeli district police department in Tashkent city. The Ombudsman has officially stated their position regarding the situation.

It is noted that on February 8 of this year, J.Qurbanov was summoned to the district's police department, where he was illegally detained for two days and subjected to various forms of violence. As a result, it has been reported that he suffered a broken leg, head injuries, and bruises.

This incident has been taken under the control of the Human Rights Representative (Ombudsman) of the Supreme Assembly. The Ombudsman has submitted a demand to the Prosecutor General’s Office regarding the situation.

The Ombudsman requests that this case be reviewed within the framework of legal requirements, ensuring an open and fair investigation of all aspects of the incident.
