A clandestine workshop for the production of counterfeit drugs has been uncovered in Tashkent.

A criminal case has been initiated on this fact under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code, and an investigation is underway.

The activities of a clandestine workshop engaged in the production and sale of counterfeit medicines, operating in the city of Tashkent and Tashkent region, have been discontinued. This was reported by "Darakchi.uz" by the State Security Service.

It was reported that during the inspection of an apartment in the Tashkent district, rented by a resident of Tashkent, born in 1984, illegal drugs were produced and sold there.

In the secret workshop, a total of 594,127 units of 49 types of drugs "Fusis," "Prosulpin," "Ursosan," "Arbidol," and others, as well as 50 units of equipment, raw materials, labels, capsules, and packaging materials, prepared without safety requirements and documents, were found and registered as evidence.

Also, the suspect's house in the Uchtepa district of Tashkent was inspected, and 28,640 medicines, 75 ampoules, 46 liquids, 18,280 unnamed suppositories, and other illegal medicines, as well as molds intended for their production, were discovered and seized.

Pre-investigation checks revealed that the suspect purchased raw materials for the preparation of medicines from unknown persons online. According to the analysis, the total value of the confiscated products and equipment is 10 billion soums.

It turned out that counterfeit drugs were also distributed to some pharmacies in Tashkent and Bukhara regions. Currently, their trade has been restricted.

A criminal case has been initiated under Article 186, Part 3, Clause "a" of the Criminal Code, and the investigation is ongoing.

Also, in another event, conducted jointly with the Department for Combating Economic Crimes, a resident of Tashkent, born in 1992, and his accomplice - a bank employee, a citizen born in 1996, were detained while selling 798 boxes (574,560 units) of infusion systems imported from China for 55,700 US dollars.

According to the expert opinion, medical devices worth 1 billion soums are considered unusable. Their storage, sale, and medical use are prohibited.
