According to the British publication BBC News, 21-year-old Ukrainian citizen Roman Lavrinovich is accused of deliberately burning two houses and a car related to Prime Minister Kir Starmer.
According to London police, the suspect was arrested on May 13th in the Sydenham district of southeastern London.
Lavrinovich is accused of endangering human life by setting fire to three episodes - two houses and one car. The motive for the crime has not yet been disclosed.
According to the police investigation, these incidents occurred last week - on May 11 and 12. First, a car was burned in the Kentish Town district of northern London, then a fire broke out in the apartment where Prime Minister Starmer lived, and then another house where Starmer had previously lived.
As a result of the fire, the doors and facades of the building were damaged, but no one was injured.
For information, Kir Starmer and his family have been living in the official Prime Minister's residence on Downing Street in London since July 2024. One of the houses where the fire occurred is currently rented out.
"This is an attack not only on us, but on our entire society, on democracy, and on the values we defend," Kir Starmer stated.
The police are currently working on other details of the incident. The investigation is ongoing.
