Syria's acting president Ahmad al-Shara addressed the nation through the state television channel.
According to his words, Syria stands against forces seeking to turn the region into another battlefield, but it does not intend to start a war itself.
“We must not become a conflict zone. But let me be clear: the Syrian people are not afraid of war. They are ready to fight for their dignity,” President al-Shara said.
